The “Centro Ricerche Lanario” (Lanner Research Centre – CRL) is being created in order to make room for the exigency – that cannot be postponed anymore - of forming a group with all of those who are interested in the knowledge and in the safeguard of the Italian Lanner (Falco Biarmicus feldegii).
Unfortunately, as you can see, only a few works have been done about Lanner, with a scientific focus and certainly non understandable for “the big public”. That is one of the reasons why the Lanner and its “problems” are not – in the right way - considered in Europe.
The newborn group’s goal is to assume the role of co-ordinator of all the operations born to promote the Italian Lanner, as the research and the spread of its image to the Italian and European big public. Our purpose is to reach this aim through the evaluation of the material nowadays available and the promotion of historical and practical researches, for example monitoring the sites of nesting and create a database of the subjects taken in captivity.
